Rather than feeling defeated, I have learned to review and revise. Blog post isn’t generating enough website traffic, shift focus.
While it has been a learning process, this year I have come to realize that any investment in your business or yourself that improves the business and/or enhance your ability to manage the business is a worthwhile investment.
7 | It’s okay to find your niche Many small businesses start out trying to be great at everything. Let’s be honest, as small business owners, at some point we have all taken on more than we can manage – I certainly have. This year, I have learned that it is okay to recognize my strengths and passions and stick with them.
While it may be scary to put yourself out there, you’ll never succeed if you don’t try!
5 | Know your value I think one of the hardest things for entrepreneurs who offer a service rather than a product is determining how much to charge for the services we offer.
Specialization is NOT an unambitious word; rather it means that you want to be the BEST at one things.
This year I have taken the time to really think about what I love to do, what I don’t love to do, and what I am good at.
There were moments when it felt like time was standing still; and other times when there weren’t enough hours in a day to get everything done.
So much time, thought and preparation went into our launch last year; but so much more has happened in the 12 months since!
If something isn’t working – pivot; if it is working – figure out how to duplicate that success in other aspects of your business.
