The library no longer collects print copies of theses and dissertations.
To search for documents from a specific programme, try using a keyword search that includes the words "ryerson" "dissertations" and a couple of words from the name of the programme such as "communication" "culture" or "mechanical" "engineering." A number of departments require students to deposit a copy of their final-year thesis in the Library.

You can search for theses and dissertations at other Canadian lending libraries using Voilà, the National Union Catalogue.
Within Voilà, limit the results by format to retrieve only theses and dissertations.Requested theses and dissertations will be delivered to the pick-up shelves on the third floor.While on site, you can use Aurora to request other theses, which will be delivered to the pick-up shelves within two to three working hours.The collection contains a very large number of theses electronically available that were granted from 1947's to 2009, 90% of theses granted from 2009-2014, and 100% of theses granted from April 2014 to the present (as long as the theses are not under temporary embargo by agreement with the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research).IMPORTANT NOTE: To conduct a comprehensive search of all Uof A theses granted and in University of Alberta Libraries collections, search the library catalogue at you may search by Author, Title, Keyword, or search by Department.Theses or dissertations on microform can only be consulted in LAC’s reading room at 395 Wellington Street in Ottawa.To ensure that material is available on the date of your visit, you can place the retrieval request in Aurora a couple of days in advance.From the Theses Canada Search record display, you can click on the OCLC number to open the record in Aurora.The Request an item page provides more information about how to request items in Aurora.The harvesting will resume in 2019 and will include theses added to the repositories since 2016.Theses Canada, launched in 1965 at the request of the deans of Canadian graduate schools, is a collaborative program between Library and Archives Canada (LAC) and nearly 70 universities accredited by Universities Canada.
