Knights volunteering may be asked to stand guard over the Blessed Sacrament/Parish in pairs of two over a two hour period. It is a fund raiser for the Council who then decide how that money is to be used.
Committee members help with the solicitation of prizes from the community, help with what prizes will be raffled, help sell tickets, etc.
This committee is responsible for the Basketball Free Throw Competition, the Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Contest and an Essay contest on what it means to be catholic (writing prompt changes yearly).
The success of these programs is dependent on the assistance of Brother Knights.
It is common for our seminarians to receive $500.00 dollar scholarships each year plus a little spending money during the Christmas and Easter Seasons.
Some of their fund raising events in the past have included dinners, golf tournaments, dances, raffles, donation etc…TOOTSIE ROLLS – Brother John Pacheco is the Chairman.
The Council foresees a more active role in how we address our sick and distressed brothers and their families.
We need Brothers that are willing to communicate directly with Brothers we haven’t heard from or those we’ve indirectly heard may be ill. We used to have Tardeadas (afternoon dances on Sundays with live band).
PERPETUAL ADORATION – Brother Jim Heal is the Chairman. Each year the Council sponsors a raffle that culminates on December 12th the Virgen de Guadalupe Day.
This is a new committee who’s goal it is to have perpetual adoration of the Blessed Sacramant of the Altar over a 24 hour period once per week or month or quarter depending on Knight assistance. We try to raffle off at least 10 prizes and tickets go for .00 each or five for .00.
